This year’s Luminaria Walk is September 10, from 7 pm to 11 pm

In 1993 the Luminaria Walk began with 200 Luminarias lighting the trail near the caboose as the first annual Luminaria Walk sponsored by the River’s Edge Trail. This year over 1500 luminarias have been decorated/colored and will line the trail for the Friday, September 10th event from 7:00 – 11:00 pm. The luminaria bags are decorated by students from many schools in Great Falls. This year the luminarias will be placed from West Bank Park to the historic 10th Street Bridge. For one night only the north side of the bridge will be open so participants can make the loop. The goal of the Luminaria Walk is to celebrate the world-class trail we have here in Great Falls, Montana.

This is a free, family-friendly event for the community. There will be food and music along the trail and on the historic 10th Street Bridge to enjoy.

Please note, parking near the bridge will be limited so we recommend starting at West Bank Park.

If you would like to share your music along the trail, sell drinks or food, help place luminarias on the trail or fill all 1500 bags with sand, please call Becky at 899-8642 for various volunteer opportunities.
