Beginning July 31 through mid-September, NorthWestern Energy will temporarily lower the Missouri River upstream of Black Eagle Dam to complete improvements as part of the Black Eagle Dam Spillway Project.
In preparation for the drawdown, the West Bank Park kayak launch and dock have already been removed.
During the project:
The Missouri River will be closed from Broadwater Bay to Black Eagle Dam.
Broadwater Bay Boat Launch, the Oddfellows Park non-motorized take-out, and the river upstream of Broadwater Bay will remain open.
Your safety is our utmost priority. Please stay out of the exposed riverbed. Deep mud, unstable ground, rapidly changing water conditions, and hidden hazards make these areas unsafe for both people and pets.
