Trail users now have a place to make bike repairs right on the trail!
The River’s Edge Trail Foundation is happy to announce a new bike repair station is now installed and ready to use at the Caboose trailhead along the River’s Edge Trail, giving bikers the opportunity for repairs and adjustment to their equipment. The fully equipped bike repair station includes all the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat to adjusting brakes and derailleurs. Specifically, the station includes a large selection of tools, manual air pump with connections for both road and mountain bikes, plus a mounting rack to hold your bike while working on it. A QR code on the station leads to instructions for repair guidance.
The new bike repair station was made possible through donations from Scheels Sports and the River’s Edge Trail Foundation. The Park and Recreation Department provided installation and the United Way of Cascade County was also involved.
Trails Coordinator Steffen Janikula commented that: “To my knowledge, it is the first station in the area and a great addition to our trail, hopefully, folks find it useful. More stations could be installed in the future along the trail. It will be interesting to see how much use it gets and if vandalism becomes a problem.”
