2008 PROGRESS

While efforts to control upstream erosion continued, RTI worked with Scouts and volunteers to paint and armor the trail bridge at Whitmore Ravine.

Gary Trescott supervises Scouts planting cottonwoods this spring. Gary organizes volunteers to plant, mulch and water new trail trees.

The new Trailside Dog Park, with many new trees, a drinking fountain and vault toilet, is sure to be a popular trail destination this spring.

Trail volunteers removed almost 7 tons of old appliances, car and truck bodies, pipe and cable from the river corridor between Weissman Bridge and Cochrane Dam.

RTI worked with the City, Region 4 FWP and Audubon Society members to place nesting boxes along the trail this year.

We worked with the family of Don Kenczka, Park and Recreation Dept. and artist Nathan Bread to place this exciting sculpture along the trail in West Bank Park.

Doug and John finally paint the caboose and boxcar at the Trailhead parking area along River Drive N.
